On April 22, 1970, more than 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, auditoriums, and classrooms to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in a massive coast-to-coast movement. Earth Day is viewed by many as the catalyst for the modern environmental movement, and shortly after the first Earth Day, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was created and passed landmark bills like the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act. The global community now faces extraordinary challenges, such as global health issues, food and water shortages, and economic struggles. Regardless of race, gender, income, or geography, all people have a moral right to a healthy, sustainable environment with economic growth. Citizens of the global community must step forward and take action to create a green economy to halt these global challenges. A green economy can be achieved on the individual level through educational efforts, public policy, and consumer activism campaigns; and it is necessary to broaden and diversify this global movement to achieve maximum success.
The goal was to create a united design that can serve as the basis for all logo, web, print, and promotion with the use of as many sustainable and recycled materials as possible.
