Mountaintop removal is a radical form of coal mining where entire mountains are literally blown up – devastating communities throughout Appalachia, polluting drinking water and destroying rivers.
If your home of business is connected to the electric grid, chances are you are connected to mountaintop removal.
There is a common saying in Appalachia: what we do to the mountains, we do to the people.  Not only has mountaintop removal permanently destroyed more than 500 Appalachian mountains, but people living near the destruction are 50% more likely to die from cancer and 42% more likely to be born with birth defects compared to other people in the United States.
The visual direction developed needed to be appropriate to the goals and mission of iLoveMountains.org and The Alliance for Appalachia and applied to an event poster, brochure, mailer and invitation explaining the particulars of the event, and a fundraising event information kiosk that could be transported to a variety of locations for promotion. The new branding was also applied to promotional collateral that could be sold at the kiosk or on line.
