Settled into the urban streets of Pendleton, Nation is hellbent on an open door policy and being the go-to spot for neighbors and newcomers alike. Nation’s kitchen serves up a super hearty menu and great beers from local craft favorites to cans of PBR. Communal tables. Snug bar. Open-air back patio.
I was contacted by Andrew Salzbrun of Hickory Wald to screen print wallpaper tiles for Nation Kitchen and Bar. For this commission, I had to research various types of paper that would be best suited for wheat pasting onto the walls of the restaurant. The interior wallpaper was inspired by the guerrilla-style street art typically found on the side of buildings made famous by artists such as Shepard Fairey. After selecting the correct paper I screen printed the designs given to me by Andrew onto the paper.
